Family Owned Since 1974

Located in Rehoboth Beach a few short steps from the boardwalk, Louie's Pizza is a family owned and operated eatery and established part of the beach community for over 40 years.

Lazaros "Louie" Gouvas came to Rehoboth more than 50 years ago from the Macedonia region in Greece. He came to work with his uncle, George, at George’s Lunch on Rehoboth Avenue. George also owned pizza shops in Philadelphia and he put Louie to work there even though Louie didn’t know how to make pizza.

“He said, ‘Give me a week, you’ll be a pizza-making expert’,” .

In April 1974, after eight years at George’s, Louie started Louie’s Pizza at 11 Rehoboth Ave.

Tony and his brother, Tim, Louie's sons, have taken over much of the day-to-day management of Louie’s, but the family patriarch still comes to work every morning at the age of 78.

The images below can be found on the walls of Louie's Pizza. These murals were provided by Coca Cola and showcase 50 years of Louie's PIzza and the great beach community that we're a part of.
